Therapy at Apollo Counselling can benefit anyone who is struggling with a mental health challenge or looking to improve their overall emotional well-being. We work with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
In your first therapy session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals for treatment. We will also talk about your medical history and any current symptoms you may be experiencing.
The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Many clients attend therapy once a week, while others may attend less frequently. We will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Most Extended Health Care Plans cover the cost of psychological services. Before your first appointment, we recommend you contact your employer or benefits provider to confirm you health coverage.

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)
An RCC is a clinical counselling designation awarded by a provincial professional association such as the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). RCCs hold a master’s degree in counselling or a related field and have completed rigorous supervised clinical training. They adhere to strict ethical standards, ongoing professional development, and a code of practice established by a provincial body. In British Columbia, RCC is widely recognized and often considered the gold standard for master’s-level clinical counsellors.
Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)
A CCC is a national certification issued by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), indicating that the counsellor meets national standards for education, supervised training, ethics, and continuing education. To become a CCC, counsellors must demonstrate their qualifications and clinical experience according to CCPA criteria. CCC provides a Canada-wide credential that helps clients know their counsellor has met consistent professional standards recognized across provinces and territories.
*For clients—especially those in British Columbia and across Canada—both the RCC and CCC designations indicate that your counsellor has completed graduate-level training, engaged in supervised clinical practice, and adheres to established ethical standards, ensuring you are working with a qualified professional. In provinces like BC, where counselling is not yet regulated by statute, these credentials help protect the public by signalling professional accountability, education, and ongoing competency. Some extended health benefit plans may specifically recognize RCC and/ or CCC practitioners for reimbursement, so it is recommended that clients confirm coverage with their provider. While neither designation is a government-regulated licence (unlike psychologists or registered social workers in certain provinces), both represent a strong commitment to professional standards, ethical practice, and continued professional development.
That’s completely okay and we actually encourage it.
Finding the right therapeutic fit is an important part of the counselling process. To support this, we offer complimentary consultations so you can explore whether a counsellor feels like the right match for your needs. If it doesn’t feel aligned, you’re always welcome to explore other options.
Apollo Counselling is not a crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, please contact emergency services or reach out to one of the crisis resources listed on our website. These services are available 24/7 and are best equipped to provide immediate help.
We require 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.
Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled session time will be charged the full session fee. This policy helps us respect our counsellors’ time and ensure availability for other clients.
We offer virtual counselling services across all Canadian provinces and territories.
Because our sessions are delivered remotely through secure video and phone platforms, clients can access support anywhere in Canada — no matter which province or territory they live in.
